Ok...why were we in DT on a weekend??? Well, Buddha Boy wanted to pick up his new toy for cooking (sorry...must kept it a secret for now)...however...it was sold out at Kobiniya!!! Since we were there, Buddha Boy suggested that we each order a crepe to munch on.
Buddha Boy is not really a big fan of crepes...but I absolutely love crepes!!! Savoury or sweet...I welcome all!!! I managed to snap some pictures of the menu (below)...with so many choices...it took me a while to decide what I wanted...LOL!!!

Buddha Boy ordered the Teriyaki Chicken Mayonnaise...the crepe was thin, fresh (made-to-order), and it had a good amount of chicken in it...quite yummy!!!
Since I was still trying to wake up...I ordered "breakfast"...Ham & Egg...again...fresh crepe with slices of a boiled egg and ham...mmm...I wanted more!!!ADDRESS : Eli's Serious Sausage, 1300 Pacific Boulevard, Vancouver, BC

Buddha Boy decided to drop by David Lam Park for some sausages and croissants. As we approached Eli's, we were offered a free sample of its weekly special sausage, the Greek Sausage...and it was good!!!
Eli's menu was simple yet quite reasonable in its prices.
Eli was quite a handsome yet shy guy...I told Buddha Boy (later on at night) that Eli should use his good looks and "charm" the ladies into buying!!! Good marketing?!?!?!?! I know...me bad!!!
Buddha Boy ordered the Currywurst...he enjoyed it! Kudos to Eli for keeping it simple...not over-doing the link with many different types of sauces.
I was debating between the German Bratwurst or the Greek Sausage...I settled with latter because it was the "weekly special"...and boy...I'm glad that I did!!! The tzatziki sauce was light yet flavorful, and it added more depth to the pork & feta sausage...yummy!!!
Buddha Boy made his order into a combo...between a bag of chips and a Knish, we chose the pastry. It was filled with mashed potatoes...simple yet very tasty. I never had this before so I'm not sure how it's supposed to be...was it suppose to be served cold, warm, or hot? Just wondering...since when I bite into it...it was still a bit cold...other than that, it was good.

As I mentioned before in the comment section of our previous PanDa post, we wanted to give it another shot. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the person who tended the bus today was Derek. The funny thing was...after we ordered...Derek took a wild guess and asked if we're Buddha Boy and Buddha Girl...grrr...our identities have been exposed!!! Hahaha! After all, it's not common to see Asians with lovable Buddha-figures like us...LOL!!!
No Turkey? No Ham & Cheese? No meat for Buddha Boy? Awww...poor kid! LOL!
I ordered a Cheesecake Croissant...honestly...I'm not a big fan of cheesecake...especially NY cheesecake...however...this was good!!! Just enough "cake" to keep me entertained! The best part was the lady finger that added the crunch! Oh yea...this time, the croissants tasted so much better than the first time I visited...a big difference!!! (Sorry Derek...the croissants were good and flaky...but I still love my Costco croissants...hehehe!)
With no meat choices, Buddha Boy settled with the Mac & Cheese Croissant. I took a couple bites of it...I thought it was good...but could be better...like it needed a contrasting flavor to distinguish the two. Buddha Boy didn't quite enjoyed this...mainly because it was too much carbs and no meat...LOL! Buddha Boy's suggestion: add some bacon bits to it. (OMG!)

Hehehe Buddha Girl now that I have seen your picture, I am definitely going to Eli's *blushes*
ReplyDeleteHAHAHAHAHA!!! Bad! Bad! We should be supporting our street-cart program...not the looks!!! LOL!!!
ReplyDeleteToo bad I did not take a good pic of Eli...I was too lazy to take another one...hahaha!
I am not going to lie I clicked on the picture for a better look *blushes again*
ReplyDeleteOooooh...hehehehe
ReplyDeleteI found a pic of him smiling at Vancouver Street Eats.

You ladies are bad. To be fair, how come we didn't take a pic other operators? Maybe they could do a calendar for you ladies, geez.
ReplyDeletehmmm, that's an idea, a coupon calendar from the street vendors, proceeds to charity, anyone want to do it?
Yes that was me, I too have a buddha figure (unlike my brother). Eli is a very handsome man I must admit and I'm sure he'll be up for a calender :) But I'll volunteer my croissants for the calender. I love that idea btw, but 17 vendors for 12 months, who gets left out?
ReplyDeleteSorry about not having meat for BB but we are in the middle of working on our next filling. Bacon bits, love it, will look into that. Until now we try to make fillings that could be accepted by most (including vegetarians) but we could make it a option/add-on. Also beginning tomorrow, Eli will be teaming up with us to do a sausage in a croissant every Tuesday.
We all have very huggable and lovable buddha-figures!!! Yea...the first time I visited I have "met" your brother...he's the skinny one huh??? LOL!!!
ReplyDeleteHum...17 vendors for 12 months? Well, maybe not all vendors will participate...also...vendors who are close together (like you and Eli) can share a month...or if some vendors wish, they can do it like entertainment book style...just show your "card" (cutout from the calendar) and you can get discounts...all year round...I don't know...can't think right now...LOL!!!
You have so many ideas Buddha Girl LMAO while I was at PanDa today, I was trying to look for Eli's cart too! Couldn't find it! Was too shy to ask =P
ReplyDeleteMaybe Eli was not there today...you shouldn't miss it...it was practically right in front of PanDa...more like a hot dog cart!!!
ReplyDeleteDerek,
ReplyDeleteSorry about the visit, I didn't realize that BG gave us up. We would have stayed longer, but it was getting cold and wet out.
I was thinking that all of you guys would offer a special each month or something in a calendar, good way to try to promote all the vendors out there.
It was funny that I mentioned to BG that day that I would have ordered another sausage at Eli's and put it in one of your croissants, but she thought that wouldn't happen. Why Tuesdays only? :(
As for the croissant, the croissant did taste better than our first one.....and i actually liked the croissant the first time. Pricing, yes, I do still find it on the pricey side, but that's only my opinion. I'm not a huge fan of mac and cheese, but i thought that it still needed something. Maybe I should have put a line of ketchup on it to give it a contrasting taste...having said that, i only really like mac and cheese when it's kicked up with truffles, or bacon or something like that.
Will be back for sausage in croissant....when I can get down there on a Tuesday.
Elaine: Eli is open Tuesday to Sunday, so you came on the one day he wasn't there :'(
ReplyDeleteBB: no need for apologies, I've become very keen at spotting people since I started this, especially those with big cameras (*ahem* Elaine).
As for the sausage in a croissant, why Tuesday is that we want more traffic on slower days, and what do restaurants do when they need more traffic? They offer specials on specific days (ie wings). But next time just come and ask and we'll hook you up, we're very accommodating and will grant any request the best we can (I had someone ask for cream cheese in their ice cream croissant).
Don't be afraid to talk to us... it gets lonely sometimes :(
LOL!!! Poor Elaine!!!
ReplyDeleteDerek: I have asked urbanspoon to post my second visit to your US page, however, it's taking so long (I have sent them two requests)...hopefully it will get posted soon!!!
BG: no worries, thanks for thinking about us though, or as you would say 3Q3Q3Q!
ReplyDeleteOMG I have dance lessons Mondays downtown only =(
