So it finally arrived...our first ever "Meet & Dine" at Top Gun J&C. We decided not to take any pictures today because we are frequent diners of TG (plus we have blogged about this place way too many times)...so we're going to leave the judging to our fellow bloggers who attended the event.
We were honoured and supported by Crispy Lechon, Doris, Joyce, Derek (PanDa Fresh Bakery), Elaine (O My Sweet Tooth), and Ben & uanne (Chowtimes). For more food details and pictures, please visit Elaine's post on O My Sweet Tooth and Ben & Suanne's post on Chowtimes.
We would like to thank Uncle Chow, GM at TG for giving us a fabulous price for what we had. We were touched with your kindness...3Q3Q! Buddha Boy and I must give props to the Chef and his kitchen for all the yummy food tonight...we were pleased. The crabs were done perfectly. Though we were not quite sure what types of "seafood" were in the Baked Seafood in Portuguese Sauce, but it did taste good (and quite filling too). Another standout item was the soup, where it was slow cooked in the actual melon. We have ordered the same soup a couple times before at TG but we did not enjoy it because it was light and flavorless. But tonight, this "wow'd" us.
Despite the good food, tonight, we were disappointed with their service, which was never a problem before. Not only that they were a bit under-staffed, they were also not too attentive. Dirty bowls and plates were not changed frequently and the service was a bit lacking. Though we do love our Uncle Chow, however, he was a bit too comfortable with us and made silly comments. But hey, like we have always said, TG is our canteen, and we will visit again and again...LOL!!!
Again, to those who supported us tonight (all event diners and TG staff)...thank you! Our first ever "Meet & Dine"...thumbs up!!!

ReplyDeleteYeah, sorry about the Buddha Girl. I was already fading out after a long way. I was in the office since 4AM and by the time during the second part of the dinner I was about to fall asleep. All that great food did not help at all. :-)
