Dawg House (Seattle Premium Outlets) on Urbanspoon
We finally know the common English name for 蝦蛄 (also known as 攋尿蝦 or 螳螂蝦 or 富貴蝦 or 琵琶蝦)...it's Mantis Shrimp.  Buddha Boy and I had these in HK but we never knew the English name for it...hehehe...yups...we're slow in updating ourselves...LOL!!!
Anyhow, originally, we wanted to visit the States on their crazy Black Friday long weekend...but we just had too much things to do around the house...so we pushed it to just the past weekend.  We brought Buddha Dog along in his "royal carriage"...hahaha!  I know...some of you must be shaking your heads and wondering "WTF?!?!?!  A stroller for the dog?"  Well, yes, period.
At Tulalip outlet, there's really nothing much to eat...the food court sucked!!!  So as we're doing our rounds, we picked up a hot dog each...well...just for Buddha Boy and I since Buddha Dog already had his share of deli turkey meat from Target.
I had the Chicken Dog while Buddha Boy had the Moose Dawg...the wieners were juicy and the buns were ok...nothing special with both...just simple street hot dogs that tied us over for the time being.
We thought we would share some after photos of Buddha Dog after we got home...he was, literally, boneless!!!    Doesn't matter how you flip him, hold him, or grab him...he was limp!!!  You see, Buddha Dog doesn't really like to go out...he's more of a "house dog"...plus...his parents don't really walk him (his parents don't like to walk neither).  Because we used his "royal carriage" as a shopping cart, Buddha Dog had to walk most of the times...poor boy!  He was mentally (he doesn't like strangers and crowds) and physically drained.  LOL!!!

  2. Cute dog! I'm surprised that it was easy to bring a pet dog to the US. I thought you need to bring a lot of documentations such as records of rabies shots etc.

  3. Crispy,
    Buddha Dog has all his shots and we have paperwork, it's really quite simple, as long as he has his shots, is licensed and has documentation from the vet of the shots (I think it's a 3 month form from the vet), then that's pretty much all he needs.

    I had Buddha Dog pulling his 'carriage' once, Buddha Girl really wasn't happy about that.

  4. @Elaine:
    We had it once in HK...but was deep-fried and we didn't find it anything special...later our friends told us we should tried it steamed...hahaha...we did not know...we left the ordering to MomJ!!! Next time we go we have to try it more!!!

    @Crispy:
    Hahaha...remember at TG we mentioned that Buddha Dog is the only member in the family that's "not fat"?!?!?! Now you know!!! LOL!!!

    @Buddha Boy:

  6. Hello Queenie!!! Yes Buddha Dog is a Shih-Tzu!!! He is a pure bred but unfortunately we don't have any documentation because we adopted him...so Buddha Boy always call him "mutt"...grrr!!!

    Does yours rule the house like he/she's the royalty??? LOL!!! These dogs have attitudes!!! LOL!!!

  7. I think there'd be a market to farm mantis prawns and Thai tiger prawns locally, unfortunately, we only have frozen.

    I have seen the frozen mantis prawns but haven't tried them.

    Queenie, buddha dog has to pull his weight around here if he wants to eat :)

  8. Oh, c'mon, BG, just call it the way Cantonese people calling it: "Pissing shrimp"! I think it falls in the same category as crawfish: simply because it is "delicate" or not consume vastly, you won't easily find it. What a shame...

  9. mine definitely rules the house and is spoiled rotten. he sleeps on our bed, couch, wherever he likes. my mom even knitted him clothes because it was so cold earlier on

    haha i think i might have to report buddha boy to spca! ;p shih tzu's are not meant for heavy labour! they get to eat whatever they beg for...at least nothing too salty, with chooclate, onions and grape...

  11. Absolutely Queenie!!! Shi-tzu gets anything...in fact...that goes to any dogs out there...hahahaha!!!

    My previous shi-tzu (who passed away at the age 19) ate ALMOST anything...the only thing he did not like was banana...other than that...he, literally, ate everything...chive dumpling, ice cream, watermelon, chocolates...hahaha...even though some of these stuff should have been banned...hahahaha!

    The baby now, Buddha Dog...is quite picky...he loves lamb (bones and meat), pork and beef bones (but not pork meat), chicken, watermelon, pineapples, Chilliwack sweet corns (no other types)...hahahaha...yups...he IS spoiled...blame Buddha Boy's dad and mom...spoiled him! LOL!
