While having to drive down to Bellingham to pick up Buddha Girl and Mom, I needed something to eat. I was prepared, I had programmed Boomer's Drive In months before hoping for the right opportunity, and this was it.
With Buddha Dog waiting patiently in the car, I ordered The Big Boom (adding bacon...of course). This thing was a half pound of ground beef with American cheese. This was a classic burger that's simple, good and cheap. Overall, with fries and drink, the meal was under $8 USD.
Between a burger that's been fried on a griddle versus a grill, I'm beginning to lean more towards a griddle. I used to like a grilled patty because of the nice char and grill marks, but recently, I've had burgers from a griddle that has nice crusting on the top and bottom to seal in the juices. This burger reminded me of the old Wally's Burger on Kingsway in Vancouver, but better.
Waffle Fries! How come we rarely see this option around Vancouver? Anyway, for something cheap, simple and good, this' the place, and I will visit again.
