So, Daisy and I were back at Pearl in Burnaby again...ok...Daisy's now officially a shabu-shabu (涮涮鍋) addict. Hahahaha! Daisy, along with her daughter Pokemon, has been talking about this every day and every night since out last visit...I think they probably dream about it too...hahahaha!
Pretty empty restaurant since we went there at about 4pm...hehehehe...a late lunch and an early dinner for both of us.
After all my visits, I finally snapped a better picture of my Spicy Pot (麻辣鍋底). The pot base came with frozen tofu (凍豆腐), pork intestines (肥腸), and pork blood (豬血). Daisy again ordered a simple clear broth.
We pretty much order the same stuff as last visit, except this time, due to my Chinese herbal medications, I asked them not to give me the napa cabbage (大白菜), instead, they gave me Bean Sprouts (豆苗).
We also ordered some sides: Fish Dumplings (魚餃), Pork Blood (豬血), Chicken Hearts (雞心), Sticky Rice With Blood (豬血糕), and Chive Dumplings (韭菜餃). Nothing special with the pork blood or the chicken heart. The fish dumplings had minimal to no fish taste. The sticky rice with blood was, again, poor T&T quality.












Ahhh, all these Pearl Hot Pot posts is making me want to give this place a try! Especially for their soft serve ice cream in a cone lol! I'm a sucker for desserts :)
ReplyDeleteHahaha! Well, this place is not cheap, all said and done would work out the same as an AYCE. I usually just stick with my pot combo with the spicy soup pot, and couple add-ons (chicken hearts and pork intestines)...pretty much good for me!
ReplyDeleteAs for the soft-serve, it's really on and off...sometimes they would have an awesome mix, while other times the ice cream tastes pretty sad...hahahaha!
