#2020 - 8766 McKim Way, Richmond, BC (Excel Centre)
It's Alaska King Crab (阿拉斯加皇帝蟹) season!!! Hehehe! We were invited by AuntieJ and UncleB for dinner...and where else would we go? TG of course!!!
This crab was around eleven and a half pounds...yup...a good size for the five of us. Well, AuntieJ and UncleB both eat like a bird...so properly speaking, this was shared between Buddha Boy, myself, and JJB (MomJ + AuntieJ + UncleB)...hahahaha!!!
Steamed AKC with Minced Garlic (蒜蓉蒸皇帝蟹)...plate #1...look at those leg meat...YUM!!! Sorry about the picture quality, I had to be quick when snapping this picture because everyone was ready to dive in...LOL!!!
Steamed crab plate #2...with the body shell...I think it's calling me...hahahaha! Overall, between the two steamed plates, Buddha Boy and I had approximately 75% of the legs...hehehehe!
Plump and succulent. The divine sweetness and the mouthwatering tenderness had won Buddha Boy's heart at the first bite...then one after the other. (Wow! That sounded like a TV commercial huh?) But in the end...I still ate more...LOL!!!
While Buddha Boy and I were munching away, MomJ went for crab tomalley (蟹黃)...not much there, but good enough for her. (Old people gotta watch their cholesterol level, y'know...hahahaha!)
I couldn't just let the servers take all the flavorful juices away...so I pour all the juice from both steamed plates into a bowl. I ended up packing this home and had it with some plain rice the next day...mmm...yum!!!
We had the crab done two ways, while one way was steaming the crab, the other way was...hehehe...BFT Alaska King Crab with Fried Rice (避風塘炒皇帝蟹加炒飯)!!! Again, Buddha Boy and I had about 75% of the crab on this plate.
**Drooling** Just look at that!!! Can you say no to that?!?!? The BFT mix (Chinese celery, garlic, green onions, chili peppers) added a nice hint of flavors without interrupting or overpowering the natural fragrance and sweetness of the crab meat. I gotta say, TG did this quite nicely.Of course, we couldn't just order an AKC, being us (and thank you AuntieJ for being so generous), we ordered a Sweet & Sour Pork Cheeks (金枝玉葉), an Eight Treasures Eggplant Pot (八珍茄子煲), and a Pea Sprouts in Supreme Broth (上湯豆苗). We ended the night with complimentary Red Bean Dessert Soup (紅豆沙). Thank you AuntieJ and UncleB for the wonderful dinner.
