Bodhi Choi Heung Vegetarian Restaurant on Urbanspoon
After Yummy's, I dropped by Bodhi on Fraser Street to pick up some cold take-outs for our veggie day tomorrow.  Bodhi is one of our go-to places for veggie-only days...funny how I never blogged about it.

I went with a "small" order of Mix & Match Gluten Combo (自選齋滷味)...which came in a bowl...I moved the food into a container for picture access...hehehehe!  I only chose three out of the eight (or nine) selections: soy-marinated (原味) on the left, sweet & sour (甜酸) in the middle and soy-marinated green beans (滷綠豆) on the right.  While many places tend to overcook gluten to a mushy soft texture, the gluten here were cooked perfectly, soft yet chewy.  The beans were marinated in a sweet soy and had a good "crunch"...and went well with my plain, white congee.
Buddha Boy's request...Veggie Duck (素鴨).  These were just plain and boring tofu rolls...I never quite enjoyed this...it's pretty tasteless, but Buddha Boy tends to like it.  LOL!  Hey, I don't mind as long as I can get some kind of veggie in to that big boy's body...hahahahahaha!
Something attracted me in the cold fridge...Lychee Jello (荔枝凍)...made from lychee juice (with lots of pulp) and agar-agar (洋菜).  This was not as sweet as I thought it would be and it was quite refreshing...I enjoyed it.  Since MomJ doesn't like agar-agar and Buddha Boy doesn't care much for desserts, I had this pretty much all by myself...hahahahahahaha!

Yes! I remember buying it from T&T too! But I don't see it much anymore! There's always the ones in the jar (from Taiwan) if you need some backups at home...hehehehe! They also sell gluten at the veggie stall in Park Place Food Court, but flavor-wise, Bodhi is better.

I never tried the deep-fried soy milk...I will definitely give it a try next time I go!!! Thanks for the suggestion!
