2011-05-21 Snack @ Aberdeen Centre

After lunch, Gloria (Fork or Chopstick), Janice (Good Eat) and I drove over to Aberdeen Centre for desserts.  Yup, we also treated ourselves to some parking nightmares...hahahahaha!

As soon as we got into the food court, Gloria headed straight for the puffs!!!  LOL!  She was quick!  I was strolling while I scouted out my options for desserts...hahahaha!
Usually, when Buddha Boy and I have the craving, we would buy a regular one to share.  What interested me was Gloria bought nothing but a half dozen of the Milk Tea (伯爵奶茶) flavor.  The cream tasted like earl grey tea with milk and sugar.  This was good, I enjoyed it, but the puff was a bit stale.

We also headed over to grab some crepes for dessert...and we took the longest time to decide!!!  Yup, women are so indecisive!!!

The "younger" ladies ordered a Greentea Shiratama Azuki Soft Ice Cream Crepe (抹茶紅豆白玉軟雪糕可麗餅).  The red bean paste was nothing special.  The matcha ice cream was a bit sweet for me.  The crepe was too soft, it needed to be left on the pan a little longer.  I prefer the ones at Bon Crepe on Robson Street.
While the "younger" ladies ordered a sweet crepe, the "young" Buddha Girl ordered a savory Ham & Cheese Crepe (火腿起司可麗餅).  Not much ham nor cheese...all we could see was the lettuce.  The crepe itself, again, needed to be cooked longer.  This was disappointing.

  1. Shu-puff! I haven't been there in ages, is there still a line up or has the novelty worn off?

  2. @Peter:
I went there few times after the visit and noticed no line-ups...I guess the novelty is only when it first opened...
