Sunday

2011-06-26 Munchies @ Aberdeen Centre

After brunch, we drove into Richmond and headed to Daiso.  Parking wasn't too bad but there were a few idiotic drivers...hahahahaha!  My stomach felt funny after the runny egg yolk at brunch...so after I "released" the waste, I had to put some more in the bucket...so up we went to the food court.  :p
MAZAZU CREPE

Buddha Boy picked up a crepe...not sure how he could still eat...he hasn't "release" what he ate at brunch yet...hahahahaha!
The Tuna & Egg Crepe was pretty disappointing.  Not much tuna, not much egg, and the crepe was soft.
Mambo Cafe 萬寶茶餐

Ok...scary...on top of the crepe, Buddha Boy also ordered a Corn Beef & Egg Sandwich 鹹牛肉蛋三文治.  This combo meal came with a drink.
The bread was not toasted.  Lots of egg, not enough corn beef.  The Iced Lemon Tea 凍檸茶 was quite diluted.
SHANGHAI SHANGHAI 上海上海

I wanted something soupy to settle my tummy, so I went with a Shanghai Wontons in Soup 薺菜餛飩湯.
The wontons were wrapped tightly and firmly.  The filling was a bit salty.  Overall, as always, I enjoyed it.
8 Juice

Honestly, I really wanted Frappe Bliss, but under the "order" of my Chinese herbal doctor, I cannot have any icy cold stuff, so I opted for a juice for dessert.
Hahaha!  This was not really a dessert choice huh?  Well, I thought I would have something healthy so I ordered the Five Green juice 排毒五青果汁...a blend of green apple, green bell pepper, cucumber, celery and bitter melon...yea...I surprised myself too...LOL!!!
BEARD PAPA'S

The non-dessert person, Buddha Boy, picked up a dessert for himself...a Strawberry Cream PuffThe popular stall was not busy on a weekend day packed with eaters in the food court...I guess it's no longer a hype or a fad...hahaha!
The puff was a bit stale.  The cream was not overly sweet and had a very light artificial strawberry taste.  We both thought the quality has gone downhill since it first started...but it could just be us...or just this visit.
I wanted to share a few Chinese groupon-like sites that I came across recently: Vantosave 溫哥華團購網, Yippon 易誠團購 and Groupforsave 北美團購折扣網.  Enjoy!

And this might be the understatement of the century.

  2. LOL!!! Well, honestly, "parking" itself wasn't too bad...easy to find spots...but there were idiots driving in the middle of the two-way or passed a spot and decided to reverse with a load of cars behind him...hahahaha!

  3. Yup, something about the beard papa puff, It didn't have the dryness or crispness on the outside. The tuna and egg crepe was just so-so, but I keep getting it.

  4. I like the fillings from Aberdeen but the puff from Metrotown. Aberdeen makes too many in each batch and not sell all of them vs Metrotown with smaller bathes, IMO.
I keep going back for the Green tea crepes @ Mazazu.
I feel the same way BB. Its just routine it feels like.

  6. @Gloria:
I never tried the one in Metro...I know they have one in Crystal Mall too but never tried it...

    @Janice:
