Frost Doughnuts on Urbanspoon
More food?  Yup, had to find more bacon doughnuts to try.  A colleague recommended Frost Doughnuts in Mill Creek, so GPS led the way again.
It was quite a chore getting to this doughnut shop.  Located in the town of Mill Creek, the town was having their annual festival, so traffic wasn't too pretty.  On top of that, due to the festival, we realized that whatever we saw in the display was pretty much what's left in the whole shop.  We took the last three bacon doughnuts of the day...and it was only a bit before 4pm.  (We apologize to the guy behind us that swore once he found out...he stormed out of the place...we undertand...it was, after all, bacon.)
I tried a Smokey Bacon Maple Bar on site and it was really, really, really good.  The bacon wasn't too salty, the glaze wasn't too sweet, and the bar was deep-fried nicely to a crisp on the edges while still having the softness inside (without being too dense as well).  A definite return.
We also ordered a few other items to try.  Having it the next day didn't really do it justice, but either way, we didn't like the Banana Split Fritter because it was too hard, flat and dense.  The Southern Red Velvet and the Glazed Applesauce Cinnamon weren't really for us.  The Classic Raised Glazed and the Maple French Cruller weren't good as day olds, but I could imagine them being really good when fresh.
I have not yet visited Rocket Doughnuts in Bellingham for their Bacon Maple Bar...it's a must next trip.  Yes...I'm a bacon whore.
