Congee Noodle House on Urbanspoon
After a long day of praying, MomM, Buddha Boy and I wanted something simple, quick and tasty.  MomJ joined us for the ride for some late snacks.
Buddha Boy ordered the Chow Mein with Three Kinds of Meat 三絲炒麵.  The meat consisted of shredded pork, shredded chicken and BBQ pork.  Good amount of meat on top of crispy noodles, however, it was a bit salty.
I had the Prawns with Scrambled Egg on Steamed Rice 滑蛋蝦球飯.  I would be okay with the low-quality shrimps if they were at least edible...but the shrimps were soft (almost to a mushy texture as I bite into it).  The rice was only lukewarm and the egg sauce was extremely salty.  This was a disappointing dish.
Buddha Boy and I have always enjoyed the Deep Fried Chicken Soft Bone with Spicy Salt & Chili 椒鹽雞膝 here, but this time, it went below par.  Well, it tasted okay, but the batter was thick and doughy...we couldn't really tell if the pieces had any chicken knuckles...hahahaha!
MomJ and MomM wanted veggies.  MomM specifically wanted Chinese Broccoli with Oyster Sauce 蠔油芥蘭.  And yes...the two mothers ganged up and kept on putting veggies in our bowls and plates...grrr...
Remember there was a period when Buddha Boy would order Singapore Fried Vermicelli 星洲炒米 everywhere he goes?  Well, recently, it's lemon chicken.  The Sesame Chicken with Lemon Sauce 西檸芝麻雞 was not bad, but not too great neither.  The batter was the same as the one used for chicken knuckles.  The not-so-lemony lemon sauce tasted quite diluted.  Overall...just meh.
MomJ, Buddha Boy and I shared a bowl of Wonton in Soup 淨雲吞 (right) while MomM ordered a bowl of Wonton with Noodle 鮮蝦雲吞麵 for herself.  The wontons here were so much better and bigger than its sister restaurant on Kingsway by Joyce Street...and tasted so much better too!
From there late-night menu, MomJ ordered the Clams in Black Bean Sauce 豉汁炒蜆.  While MomJ and MomM enjoyed the dish, I thought the clams were a bit too fishy for me.
