Footo Delights was having a contest for new flavors and our submission to this was...bacon, of course.
Buddha Girl coordinated with Brenda (owner & operator of Footo Delights) to pick up our winnings. The Maple Bacon Croissants (not sure the exact menu name) weren't bad at all. The croissants had a sweet custard-like filling, a piece of bacon on each end of the horn with minced bacon sprinkled on top of a sweet glaze.
I liked how everything was incorporated, but being me, I'd actually like more bacon flavor. My suggestion would be adding more depth by incorporating bacon salt either into the filling or sprinkled on top of the glaze.
On top of our prize pack, I asked Buddha Girl to picked up nine more croissants to make it a dozen. We give props to Brenda for being very receptive to constructive criticisms and new ideas. If you are in the area and looking for a snack, give it a try.
