It was Sunday and we wanted brunch...more specifically, an Edible Canada brunch, but that didn't really work since we had no reservation. So after driving around aimlessly for about half an hour, we ended up here at Lucy's Eastside Diner on Main Street.
I had the Three Little Pigs, consisting of a bacon benny, a chorizo benny and a ham benny. The hashbrowns were deep-fried and I loved it. It was big and crispy. The bacon benny was a disappointment, it had very little bacon. The ham and chorizo bennys were better, enough meat to satisfy me. The eggs were poached hard so they weren't runny...another failure. And to add more to disappointment, the hollandaise wasn't flavorful nor rich, I've made better at home.
Buddha Girl went with a Lucky's Tripe Threat, which came with three eggs, three bacon, three sausages hashbrowns and toasts). Buddha Girl likes her eggs poached hard, so it was not a difficult task for their kitchen to comply. Just like my order, the bacon here was miserable, limp and thin. Three thick slices of ham was the bang for the buck, but everything else was just meh.
We had a small order of the Cinnamon French Toasts. Well, compare to Fraser Park Restaurant's, this was just sad. Neither egg nor cinnamon made its presence.
Overall, our meal was just okay. Nothing horribly bad but nothing spectacular neither. Unless we're in the area and really needed something quick...well, we may consider returning since they open 24/7.
