After dragging Little Lee (and his fridge-on-wheels) to help with picking up a bathtub at Lowe's, Buddha Boy and I must feed the boy now.  Not wanting to drive far, we decided to try a new restaurant that opened in our neighborhood.

O! Taho

Years ago, whenever I had a craving for tofu dessert, I would drive into Richmond and go to either May Lian Foods 美廉傳統豆腐 on Maycrest Way or Excellent Tofu 好好豆品專賣店 on Hazelbridge Way (Central Plaza 中環廣場).  Ever since Marv/Colleen of 604Munchies showered us with a 4L tub of taho, my princess mode kicked in and would not eat tofu dessert from anywhere else locally but Garden City Kabob Grill in Richmond.  Yes, I am spoiled.

So what does Garden City Kabob Grill has to do with O! Taho?  Well, the former no longer exists.  The owners migrated across the bridge and opened a little shop on Fraser Street by East 26th Avenue in Vancouver.

The Soup House 湯.com

Previously located where Aji-Kura Ramen & Sushi 味藏 is, The One Spot Soup House 湯.com has moved up north on the same block and has slightly changed its name to The Soup House 湯.com.

Angkor Restaurant 唔哥金邊粿條家

With limited parking, this restaurant has been on the corner of Victoria Drive and 33rd Avenue for a good number of years.  We tried it way back when it first opened and recall that we didn't quite enjoy it.  Why?  Neither of us really remembered why.

Top Cantonese Cuisine Restaurant 食為先酒家

After approximately eight long years, we finally decided to give our neighborhood joint another try.  Funny how we often visit this plaza for either the corner supermarket or for the hair salon, but never really opted to have dim sum at Top Cantonese Cuisine Restaurant 食為先酒家.  If it wasn't because we were tight on time, we would probably be elsewhere for lunch.

South Ocean Seafood Restaurant 南海漁村海鮮酒家

After dropping off Buddha Dog at his day spa, Buddha Boy and I had 1.5hr to kill before our appointment with my TCM.  We were hungry and needed breakfast...yes, dim sum for breakfast.  We decided to make a stop at the next dim sum restaurant in sight...okay, South Ocean Seafood Restaurant 南海漁村海鮮酒家 it is.

Tung Hing Bakery 同慶餅家

After a disappointing sandwich from Banh Mi Saigon 西貢麵包, I had to satisfy my craving for a good banh-mi.  My choice was Tung Hing Bakery 同慶餅家.

Buddha Girl and I have a favorite banh-mi shop, unfortunately, it's in Portland.  Nothing else in Vancouver really compares to Best Baguette in terms of the bun and filling (quality and quantity, ratio and taste).  When Buddha Girl's colleague raved about a banh-mi joint in our neighborhood, we knew we had to give it a try.

Grandt Kitchen

We don't know much about Filipino cuisine but we do enjoy what we've tried from local restaurants and from our Filipino friends/colleagues.  After reading about this place through a popular local Chinese food blog (Sunny 飲飲食食), we knew we must pay it a visit.

Seoul Grill House

Buddha Girl had to do a 49-day vegetarian mission.  Being the supportive husband, I supported her by eating two vegetarian meals with her...yes, two.  During her first few days of the mission, Buddha Girl already began planning where her first carnivore meal would be, ultimately choosing one of her favorites, the Korean-style grilled pork belly.
